During the 1990's CIPM funded a variety of projects ranging from small, one-year "seed money" efforts to longer-term regional programs. Virtually all of the research funded involved at least regional problems and unique solutions. With the advent of the World Wide Web, CIPM became more and more involved in electronic dissemination of IPM information.

With the challenge of new and more stringent regulation of agricultural production and the adoption of the IPM Roadmap as a national goal for agriculture, the CIPM has positioned itself as a provider of unbiased IPM knowledge and technology. The increased importance of food security and invasive species had led to a close working relationship between CIPM and a number of federal agencies, including USDA/CSREES. USDA APHIS, USDA Risk Management Agency and Homeland Security

CIPM offers three major services to the agencies and clients it serves:
  1. Grants/program management for multi-state, multi-organization programs targeted towards the land-grant university system, including management of the Southern Region IPM Center, the 2006 and 2007 National Legume Risk Management Tool Development Program, and the USDA Southern Regional IPM Competitive Grants Program

  2. Development of online resources such as dynamic web sites and online database applications, including secure applications for USDA/CSREES and USDA/APHIS

  3. Planning and sponsoring key workshops and forums involving national IPM issues, including "Communications in IPM," a new series of invitation-only meetings to engage diverse stakeholders for key IPM issues
