1:40 PM - 3:00 PM From Grower to Lab and Back: Advancing Orchard IPM Mary Louise Flint ,  Bill Olson ,  Nick Mills ,  Carolyn Pickel ,  Bill Chandler ,  Bob Elliot ,  and Walt Bentley
In this day of short-term funding and private-sector pest management alliances, what is the role of the Land Grant University? We explore how an established statewide university infrastructure linking researchers/extension personnel/growers and consultants fostered and accelerated development and adoption of new IPM tools in orchard crops. Stakeholders will present a case history relating how the partnership was important in achieving their goals. Discussion questions include: * Does forming partnerships help implementation? * What are the roles and limitations of partners and stakeholders? * How can partnerships be maintained after short-term funding runs out? Please join us to contribute your ideas.
