Workshops/Meetings Planned/Sponsored By CIPM
From 1999 to 2004, CIPM funded a number of workshops related to invasive species and invasive species management, listed here.
Starting in 2006, CIPM has begun a new series of discussions: "Communications in IPM." To allow for more open discussion, and to avoid any appearance of bias on the part of CIPM, this series is by invitation-only, with no proceedings, "white papers" or other publication of the presentations. Participants are free to present or publish their presentations elsewhere. All participants are provided a CD of presentations, with the permission of authors
The first "Communications in IPM: Risk Management" was held in Washington, DC, on October 3-4, 2006, at the Watergate Hotel. Representatives from universities, government, and industry presented diverse views and information related to risk management, crop insurance, invasive species and new technologies' impacts.
For the complete agenda, including authors and presentation titles, please click here. Please note that actual presentations can be obtained only from the authors.
The second Communications in IPM: Food Production Industry, Opportunities and Challenges is being held August 2nd, 2007, following another meeting planned by the IPM Institute, Food Industry Stewardship: Industry/Public Agency Summit. Again,
actual presentations can be obtained only from the authors.
More "Communications in IPM" are planned for 2007 and beyond. The next several are listed below. CIPM is interested in additional topics for consideration, as well as suggestions for participants and speakers. CIPM pays all expenses for invited speakers. If you have an interest in participating or suggesting additional topics, or in organizing a "Communications in IPM," please contact CIPM
