   Membership Benefits

Technology Access With semiannual meetings and reports, Members see the latest in technology first. All Members share in all of the research results and, if desired, can speed up areas of particular interest with enhancement funding.

Visibility

Center offices are now located adjacent to the main lobby of the Partners I Building on the industry partnering, NCSU Centennial Campus. This is also the location for the new USDA/APHIS Center for Plant Health Science and Technology. Adding the Center’s major Internet presence and funding of projects throughout the U.S., the Center has a national reputation, making Members highly visible with growers, other agricultural interests, and the public at large.

Leverage

Total funding from Memberships, enhancements and other grants exceeds $400,000 annually. Each Member realizes a significant leveraging of their membership fee. This leveraging is further enhanced by a low 9.5% overhead.

Research, Not Politics

The Center for IPM does not engage in the politics of IPM, nor any lobbying activities. All funds are used for the targeted IPM research and outreach determined by the Industry Advisory Board, made up of representatives from each Member organization.

Communication

Semi-annual Center meetings provide an informal forum for discussion, cooperation, and the exchange of perspectives and information among agribusiness, government (USDA, EPA), national and state grower associations, other non-profit organizations, and university extension personnel and researchers.

Credibility

With the support and oversight of the National Science Foundation and the state land grant university system, the Center’s research results can be trusted as scientifically-based and unbiased information. All publications, whether in print or on the Internet are subject to university scientist peer review.

Investment

Center Membership, and the resultant supported research, provide key financial and educational support for undergraduate and graduate students in many diverse areas of agriculture. These students are the next generation of your employees.
